

Back and pelvic pain during pregnancy is common with it affecting up to 80% of pregnant women. Due to the release of a hormone called Relaxin, which aids in the natural delivery of your baby, many of the ligaments that support the pelvis and spine become soft and are not as effective at supporting the spine. Unfortunately a side effect of this can be back and pelvic pain.
Many women feel that pain in their back and pelvis stops them exercising which alongside the growing abdomen will actually stiffen up you spine and can lead to an increase in pain.
There is hope however! with simple alterations to your posture and looking at how you are carrying out your everyday tasks, performing effective exercises could significantly reduce your pain.
